Professional private, class/group, and online drum lessons offered by a certified percussion instructor in all styles for all ages. Performing internationally and teaching privately and in public schools in Hampton Roads, Virginia for over 30 years, including five years as Indoor Drum Line Director, Michael  Behlmar is a graduate of the Percussion Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California, where he studied under the supervision of such recording artists as Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Steve Houghton, Casey Scheurell, Jeff Porcaro, and many others. Michael has studied with Joe Morello and continues to study with internationally known drum educator Dom Famularo in Long Island, New York.  

 

The percussion studio is one of the best-equipped in Hampton Roads, including Finale's SmartMusic for an interactive learning experience between instructor and student.  Everything a student needs for an educational and enjoyable environment is available in the extensive music library:  supplemental instructional videos/DVDs, audio CDs/tapes, and a wide variety of method books.  Michael has published a series of method books with play-along CDs , and was awarded the Presidential Citation from the Governor's School for Visual & Performing Arts at the University of Richmond.
